WHAT TO EXPECT

MISSION

Immanuel RPC exists for the joyful goal of worshiping, serving and proclaiming Jesus in West Lafayette and beyond. We meet together every week at God’s invitation to rejoice in His greatness and goodness. He sends us out to serve each other and you, our neighbor, in any way we possibly can. And whether during Sunday service or the rest of the week, we try to carry forth the church’s great message – that Jesus is Lord – to everyone we can.

You can get a sense of our ministries by looking at the calendar below. Currently, we have regular small group Bible studies, youth group ministries, and various meetings for prayer.

CONVICTION

We believe the Bible is trustworthy, accurate and authoritative because it is the Word of God. We believe the Nicene Creed teaches well what the Bible reveals about God. Because we are a confessional church, we submit to the Bible as our ultimate standards and to the summaries of the Bible’s teaching in our Westminster Confession, Catechisms (Larger, Shorter), and the RPCNA Testimony,

WORSHIP

Worship is at the center of who we are as a church. When you visit, you’ll be able to participate in worship that is refreshingly simple, serious and joyful. We worship as most of the church throughout history has done, singing the Psalms of the Bible, praying earnestly, and hearing God’s Word proclaimed. On the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate the sacrament of communion (if you are visiting with us then, please read here about a note about our communion service). Worship begins at 10am and usually lasts 75-90 minutes.

On Sunday evenings, we meet for classes (i.e., Sunday school). This service begins at 5:30 when we sing and pray together. Afterwards, we split up into classes for all ages, often enjoying a time of fellowship following the service.
